Notice Board Desktop Help

Although School Notice Board has been developed to be as user-friendly and easy to operate as possible; we have included this help file and also tutorial videos, to make it even easier to use. If you wish to see a video, simply click the link below to open a window containing the videos.
The tutorial videos are also included on the School Notice Board web site, under the section called 'Benefits' and the sub-heading 'Very Easy To Use'. Click here to open the web site in a new window.
Click here to open the School Notice Board Tutorials menu.
To login, simply type your User-name and your Password in the appropriate boxes and then click the login button. If you have forgotten your password, click the 'Forgot your Password?' box and a Microsoft Outlook© window will open. From here, just send us an email and we will email you back with your new password.

*Please note: User-name and Password are case-sensitive.
Once you have logged in, you will be presented with a confirmation window displaying 'Login Success', followed by the Home Page (pictured below).

This is the central navigation page of the School Notice Board system and from here you have many options available to you. To navigate around, use the Menu box (located on the left-hand side of the page).

*Please note: If you wish to logout at any time, you simply click the Logout button below the Menu box (see the section called Logging Out for more details).
If you wish to add or edit a news item, click Add or Edit News and a new page will appear containing a text box. You are then able to enter a suitable title for your news item in the Enter Title box, and similarly the details of the news item in the Enter News Item Content box.
Once you have finished adding your information, click the Add News button below or, alternatively: if you wish to clear all the information within the boxes, you can click the Reset All Information button.
Once you click the Add News button, a new page will appear containing the news item you have just added, together with the time, date and user-name of the person who added it. Now you can either click the Go Back to News Page link, or any of the menu links in the Menu box on the left.
If you wish to edit or delete a news item, simply click the Edit/Delete News Item link. You will then be presented with a list of all previously entered news items, followed by options to Edit, Delete and Preview them. From here, choose the news item you wish to alter and then click the link describing how you wish to alter it.
By clicking the above link, you will be presented with a list of News Items that have already been entered. You can also choose to arrange the items differently, for example: you can choose to display news items that have only been added in the last week, as opposed to items that were added within the last month which may be less important to your search.

By clicking the Update School Details option, you will be presented with a series of boxes which you can use to enter the relevant details concerning the name, address, etc. of your school. This option can also be used to amend any previously entered school details which have since changed.
Once you have finished entering your details, just click the Update School Information button. Alternatively you can erase all information by clicking Reset All Information button.
By selecting this option, you will be then presented with all the previously entered school details.
By selecting the View Calendar link, you will be presented with a news page displaying this month's calendar. You can scroll forward or backward, one month at a time by clicking the Previous Month and Next Month links in order to view events in other months.
By clicking on a particular date, you will be shown any previously entered school events listed, such as holidays, staff training days, etc. If you select a date with no events details, you will receive a message displaying: There are no calendar entries for today.

From here you have options to add, edit and delete school events. The events are also classified into different categories to make it easier to display and manage your information.
These are the options available to you:
By clicking any of the above links, a new page will appear containing 2 text boxes with an Event Title box and Enter Description box respectively.
Simply input your details and then click the Add Event box below. If you wish to clear the information you have entered, you can click the Reset All Information link.
As with the Add Events option, similarly you have various options open to you from here. These options are:
By clicking any of the above links, a new page will appear listing previously entered event information, followed by options to Edit, Delete and Preview the events.
Simply click the appropriate link next to the relevant event you wish to alter and alter it however you wish.
If you select an option which does not have any previously entered information, you will receive the following message: You Currently Have No Event Name In Your Calendar.

By selecting the Uploads option, you are presented with a new page enabling you to upload files to the School Notice Board system.
By clicking the Browse button, a browser window will appear. From here you select the file you wish to upload and then click the Open button. You will now be taken back to the previous page and the file you have selected will be displayed in the box next to the Browse Button. If this is the correct file you wish to upload, click the Upload File button, if it is not, simply re-select the Browse button and select the appropriate file.

Upon clicking the Manage Your Files link, a new page will appear detailing all previously uploaded files. You now have the option to Delete or Preview your uploaded files.
By selecting the Users option, you will have the ability to create user accounts within the School Notice Board system.
If you wish to erase the information you have entered, simply click the Reset button.

By selecting Options from the Menu box, you will be able to better configure School Notice Board to meet your requirements. The following is a list of options made available to you by selecting Options :
By selecting the Customise About Page option, you are presented with a new window. Here you can enter further information as it pertains to your school. For example, this information could contain : mission/vision statements, school aims/goals, awards the school has won, etc.
Once you have finished adding your information, click the Update Information button below or, alternatively: if you wish to clear all the information within the boxes, you can click the Reset All Information button.
By selecting this option, you will be presented with your previously entered details about your school.
If you have finished your session and wish to logout at any time, you simply click the Logout button, located below the Menu box. Once this is done, you will receive a confirmation message on screen displaying 'Logout Success'.
